This beautiful landmark building was erected in 1903 at a cost of $1,200. It has been used over the years for burial ceremonies, weddings and business meetings. Early in the century, when the ground was frozen, the caskets were passed to the basement through a trap door in the floor and stored there until spring when the ground could be opened for burial.

The Chapel has been maintained and continues to be a landmark at the entrance of Pleasant Hill Cemetery. It is still occasionally used for services and meetings.

The Smith Memorial Building was dedicated in October, 1999. This beautiful building was built out of the generosity of and is dedicated to Oscar Benson Smith, Roswell O.B. Smith and Bernice H. Smith. The building houses the Superintendent’s office, a Reception area, a Quiet Room and a Conference Room. In inclement weather, we use the Conference Room with its lovely bay windows to hold “graveside” services.

Visitors may park behind the Smith Memorial Building and enter through the rear door. This entrance is Handicap Accessable.

Dedicated by the Women's Auxiliary on September 13, 2006, this plaque commemorates the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association and the "Old Hill Church" from which the cemetery originated.
